Accountant - Part Qualified - Construction Contractor - Galway Office/Project Location : Ballybrit Galway Employment Type : Permanent Work Location: Office Pay: Competitive salary negotiable based on experience Experience: min 2+years Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required Our client is a leading Irish building contractor working on a broad range of buildings projects in the healthcare, education, industry, construction and leisure industries Head office based in Galway they have a requirement for a full time, permanent staff role for a part qualified accountant to join the finance team.
The ideal candidate is ACCA/ACA/CPA part-qualified with at least two years' experience in Practice, with a strong technical ability and attention to detail.
Reporting to the CFO, the part qualified accountant will have responsibility for areas of the finance function, including financial transactions, compliance with regulations and preparing reports.
Manage the accounts receivable function, ensuring accuracy of payment applications and certificates and subsequent issuing invoices to clients Regular review of the outstanding debtors and liaise with clients in relation to payment Review and update of retention receivable on an ongoing basis Responsibility for the construction subcontractor payment process, including cost allocation and commercial reporting Assist in the preparation of statutory reporting requirements including VAT returns, RCT returns, CSO returns, payroll filings and other ad hoc duties as required.
Process monthly and bi-weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment Preparation of various reports to the CFO and senior management, and adhering to deadlines.
Assist the CFO in preparing annual budgets to ensure alignment with operational objectives Other ad hoc duties as required Requirements A degree in Business / Finance Part qualified or recently qualified accountant 2+ years of experience working in Practice Strong knowledge of three-way matching and processing payment runs Knowledge of Iplicit cloud accounting software (preferred but not essential) Advanced Excel skills essential Experience in team leadership and communication Strong numerical, analytical and attention to detail skills Package Competitive salary negotiable based on experience Full time permanent staff role Pension and life insurance Flexible working hours On-site parking Training opportunities and career development
