OverviewThe Electrical Project Engineer is a key role within the Irish business, working within the Engineering Department to manage and deliver projects and manage key customers. The role requires broad knowledge of, and experience in the range of technical responsibilities carried out by this department. The individual will be involved in multifaceted projects involving change management, building compliance, electrical design, space management and advising on energy management.Reports to: Electrical EngineerKey relationships: Managing Director (Ireland), Engineering Department, CAD Department Head of Engineering.ResponsibilitiesDefining project scope, including budgets, to ensure projects are fully developed at concept stageDesign and collaborate with other disciplines to create a construction set of documents and work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipmentDesign of utility and building services systems (MV & LV power distribution, lighting, life safety systems, security systems, etc.), including surveys as required to meet customer objectivesDesign & development of electrical schematics, process & instrumentation drawings, control loop drawings, assembly drawings and bill of materialsDesign of sustainable solutions incorporating renewable technologies where requiredInput and support mechanical design development on projects, including leading project meetingsReview and approve equipment submittals for all electrical aspects of designProvide technical support for information requests prior to and during constructionOversee installation of projects on customer sites, ensuring Quality, Health and Safety and Technical complianceWork with commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation and performance of electrical systemsAct as Ancillary Certifier for BC(A)R and undertake inspections prior to BC(A)R certificationMonitor and manage project programmes with regular progress trackingServe as the point of contact with local utilities to define site utility requirementsManage all financial and commercial aspects of site-related contracts, including variation orders and negotiations with customers/sub-contractors; ensure equipment and contracts are correctly specified and ordered for timely deliveryCandidate ProfileDegree in Electrical Engineering essential with a minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience essentialDemonstrate leadership qualities and ability to maintain relationships with internal and external customersMotivated, dependable, with strong communication, attention to detail and high-quality standardsLeadership and problem-solving skills; ability to mentor electrical project engineers as requiredAbility to quickly identify and remove roadblocks; proactive planning to ensure resource allocation and timelinesAbility to manage new design concepts through exploration, development and deploymentAbility to manage multiple projects of varying scale and complexityCreative and innovative thinking to reduce costs without impacting quality, reliability or maintainabilityEnjoys solving problems, interacting with customers, suppliers and contractors; maintains constructive relationshipsFamiliar with electronic document and drawing management systemsExcellent understanding of European Technical Codes; knowledge of building codes and regulationsExperience with electrical software including AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, REVIT, IES, etc.; good working knowledge of BIM systemsJob DetailsLocation: Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandEmployment type: Full-timeNote: This posting reflects a potential job opening with MALONE Group.
