Due to ongoing growth, we are now seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team in Wexford. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to take a leading role in driving best-in-class environmental, health, and safety practices across our projects.

Role Overview:

The EHS Manager will be a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, driving, and delivering AirconMech's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) strategy. This position provides direct leadership to the EHS team, ensures operational excellence across all projects, and maintains full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards. The role includes oversight of PSCS responsibilities across construction projects and requires a strategic, influential leader capable of promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy


• Lead, mentor, and develop the EHS team across all sites and offices.


• Define and execute the company-wide EHS strategy aligned with organisational objectives.


• Provide expert guidance directly to the Board on EHS performance, risks, and emerging issues.


• Champion a proactive and collaborative safety culture.

1. Compliance & Management Systems


• Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO Occupational Health & Safety), and ISO Environmental Management).


• Oversee internal audits, external audits, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Maintain and update EHS policies, procedures, and documentation to meet legal and industry standards.


• Prepare the monthly EHS Dashboard and present this to the board of directors.

1. PSCS Responsibilities


• Fulfil and oversee Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) duties on applicable projects.


• Ensure development and implementation of Construction Stage Safety & Health Plans.


• Coordinate and monitor site safety practices, subcontractor compliance, and statutory requirements.


• Ensure all site teams receive appropriate EHS support and guidance for safe delivery of works.

1. Operational EHS Management


• Develop and drive robust risk assessment, method statement, and permit-to-work systems.


• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plans.


• Analyse EHS performance data and provide detailed reports to the Board.


• Conduct regular reviews of site conditions, behaviours, and compliance.

1. Training, Capability & Culture


• Identify EHS training needs and oversee the development and delivery of targeted training programmes.


• Promote ongoing safety awareness initiatives, toolbox talks, and engagement campaigns.


• Ensure competency standards are maintained across all levels of the business.

1. Environmental Leadership


• Lead the company's environmental sustainability programmes, including waste management and resource efficiency initiatives.


• Monitor environmental impacts and implement key improvement actions.


• Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and best practice measures.

1. Stakeholder Engagement


• Act as AirconMech's senior representative for EHS matters with clients, regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and industry groups.


• Build strong relationships with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to support shared safety objectives.


• Maintain the online subcontractor management platform

Qualifications & Experience


• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.


• Chartered membership of IOSH (or equivalent) is highly desirable.


• Minimum 7–10 years' experience in senior EHS leadership roles within construction/ industrial settings.


• Strong experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 systems.


• In-depth understanding of Irish, UK and EU H&S legislation and PSCS duties.


• Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive strategic outcomes.


• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
