We are looking for an experienced Site Operations Manager to join our team in Galway.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
Collaborate with project managers and contract managers to align project delivery with company strategy and values.
Oversee early-stage planning with a focus on buildability, efficient methodology, and resource optimization.
Implement and monitor the Last Planner System (LPS) to improve predictability and planning accuracy.
Ensure site teams (foremen, gangers, operatives) fully understand and execute their roles.
Provide technical input on construction methods during both tender and delivery phases.
HSQE Management
Champion a safety-first culture and enforce full compliance with HSQE systems.
Carry out regular safety, quality, and environmental inspections, reporting findings and driving corrective actions.
Promote safe work practices and ensure subcontractors meet all compliance requirements.
Address non-conformances and support resolution of defects through structured reporting.
Monitor waste management, environmental protection, and sustainability initiatives on-site.
Productivity & Performance
Track productivity across sites, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
Lead the creation and implementation of productivity improvement initiatives.
Review working hours, training, travel, and resource utilization to identify efficiencies.
Promote lean construction practices and data-driven process improvements.
Resource Coordination
Oversee and support the coordinator responsible for labor, plant, and subcontractor allocation.
Prioritize and balance resource needs across multiple projects.
Collaborate with the Plant Department to manage equipment, maintenance, and logistics.
Evaluate plant utilization and drive innovation in equipment performance and site logistics.
Collaboration & Support
Work cross-functionally with design, tendering, HR, HSQE, and procurement teams.
Provide input to tender submissions on constructability and resource planning.
Ensure early integration of buildability into design stages.
Support recruitment, workforce planning, and training initiatives.
Partner with HSQE teams to maintain the highest safety and quality standards.
Financial & Commercial Support
Contribute to budget reviews, cost monitoring, and program forecasts.
Track actual performance against budgeted targets, highlighting variances.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost savings.
Leadership & Reporting
Lead, mentor, and develop site teams, fostering accountability and operational excellence.
Represent company values in all interactions with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Drive a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Present project updates, risks, and performance reviews to senior management and directors.
Requirements
10+ years' experience in the construction industry, with proven success in managing multiple sites simultaneously.
Strong leadership, team management, and planning capabilities.
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
