**Retail Assistant Manager Position Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. This role will involve assisting the store manager in achieving sales and profitability targets by effectively managing store operations and personnel.
Main Responsibilities:
* Supervise the retail sales team daily and ensure necessary tasks are completed to an excellent standard.
* Ensure high-quality customer service is provided at all times.
* Delegate and communicate effectively with the retail sales team.
* Supervise the effective induction and training of all employees.
* Communicate sales performance to the team.
* Assist in the recruitment of high-caliber retail sales assistants.
* Assist in the effective management of the retail sales team performance.
* Ensure the store is merchandised in a customer-friendly and competitive manner.
* Maintain housekeeping standards in the store.
* Coordinate in-store sales and promotions.
* Communicate with the retail sales team regarding in-store sales and promotions.
* Ensure cash handling procedures are adhered to.
* Update shelf-edge labels regularly.
Stock Management:
* Assist in preparations for stock take and supervise where appropriate.
* Minimise stock loss through wastage, damages, and pilferage.
* Ensure food management and waste systems are adhered to.
* Check stock to ensure adequate stock is available for customers' needs.
* Rotate stock to ensure in-date stock is available and minimise waste.
Legislation & Security:
* Ensure secure opening and closing procedures with the store manager.
* Comply with Labour Law, HACCP, Health & Safety, and Consumer Legislation.
* Identify and reduce potential hazards in the store.
* Conduct Health & Safety checks with the Store Manager.
Nature of the Job:
* Maintain quality control standards.
* Work with the General Manager to achieve sales and profits.
* Manage diverse staff backgrounds and experiences.
