Carlow Toolmaking Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Toolmaker to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified toolmaker with 2-3 years of experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has an eye for detail. You'll work alongside a collaborative team to produce high-quality tooling solutions for various manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Precision machining of component parts for special-purpose and bespoke tooling.
* Program and operate CNC and manual machines.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
* Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize efficiency and quality.
* Contribute to new product development and improvement projects.
* Maintain accurate documentation of production activities.
* Assist with the training of new apprentice toolmakers.
* Adhere to all health and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
* Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on tooling and machinery to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Time-served qualified Toolmaker with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience.
* Experience in CNC and manual machining, with the ability to program and operate machines.
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of precision in all work.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
* Experience in CAD/CAM software is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and good teamwork skills.
* Highly motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in design/manufacturing of special-purpose tooling
* Familiarity with medical device manufacturing or precision engineering environments.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
