Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Site Supervisor to support delivering a major rail project in Ireland. The Supervisor works with the Construction Manager and provides site‑based input throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant construction delivery and commissioning.
Responsibilities
Oversee construction inputs across all project lifecycle phases: planning, execution, and completion.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture through regular meetings and timely resolution of safety concerns.
Ensure project elements are delivered on time and in accordance with specifications.
Collaborate with construction planners to enhance productivity and teamwork.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and key milestones.
Monitor progress and implement recovery plans where necessary.
Coordinate across functions to ensure effective resource allocation and adherence to timelines.
Ensure compliance with contract specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Conduct safety tours (SMART and Topical Assurance) and record findings in the Safety Management System.
Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure standards are met or exceeded.
Manage inspections of completed works and ensure readiness for formal inspection.
Track progress through site visits, comparing against programme milestones and contract documentation.
Provide accurate updates and reports to the project team and stakeholders.
Implement and manage Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) processes.
Assess and monitor contractor competency throughout all project phases.
Act as the primary point of contact for contractors.
Maintain clear and consistent communication on progress, risks, and resolutions.
Identify and implement cost‑effective solutions.
Undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications
An Irish National Framework Qualification Level 8 (Honours Degree) or higher in Civil Engineering or related discipline. International applicants must hold an equivalent Degree recognised by the International Engineering Alliance.
3+ years’ experience in construction.
Experience in engineering/management on large‑scale multidisciplinary railway or similar infrastructure projects.
Knowledge and experience of construction contracts.
MIEI, MCIOB or MICE (or equivalent/working towards).
Capability in commercial strategies for large‑scale projects.
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
Additional Project Management Qualifications or Construction Manager Qualifications.
NEC3/4 ECC Supervision Accreditation.
