Role Overview
* The Junior Cloud Analyst supports day-to-day Cloud Operations (Cloud Ops) activities across our clients Microsoft Azure and associated platforms.
* The role focuses on monitoring, access administration, CMDB accuracy, backup visibility, and operational governance, acting as a first-line analytical and coordination layer within the Cloud Ops team.
Required Experience & Skills
Essential:
* Basic understanding of
cloud concepts (Azure preferred).
* Familiarity with
monitoring, IAM concepts, and ticketing systems
.
* Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
* Clear written communication skills.
Desirable:
* Exposure to
Azure Portal
and
Microsoft Entra ID
.
* Understanding of
CMDB, backup, or DR
Key Responsibilities
1. 1
. Cloud Monitoring & Operational Awareness
2. Monitor cloud health dashboards and automated alerts for Azure resources.
3. Review scheduled monitoring reports and identify anomalies or warnings for escalation.
4. Support investigation of alerts related to availability, performance, and user errors.
5. Maintain operational awareness across production and non-production environments.
6. Identity & Access Management (IAM) Support
7. Assist with reviewing and tracking admin consent and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) requests.
8. Validate access requests against business justification before routing for approval.
9. Maintain audit awareness of time-bound access activations.
10. CMDB & Asset Data Accuracy
11. Support validation of Azure server records against live cloud environments.
12. Assist with identifying decommissioned or orphaned resources.
13. Coordinate with infrastructure owners to obtain confirmations and sign-off.
14. Prepare datasets for bulk CMDB updates and audits.
15. Backup & DR Operational Visibility
16. Review daily and scheduled backup summary reports.
17. Identify failed, delayed, or missing backups and raise follow-ups.
18. Maintain visibility of backup coverage across cloud and core systems.
19. Support DR readiness reporting (data accuracy, not strategy design).
20. Cloud Operations Process Support
21. Assist with operational tasks routed through ServiceNow.
22. Track task ownership, approvals, and completion status.
23. Ensure requests align with defined Cloud Ops scope and controls.
24. Reporting & Documentation
25. Produce simple operational summaries.
26. Maintain evidence for audits.
27. Keep internal documentation up to date.
