Job Description

As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical assessments, immunisation programmes, health surveillance and evidence-based guidance to support safe recruitment and workforce wellbeing. This is an ideal opportunity for nurses seeking a move away from shift work or hospital rotations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive pre-employment screening with occupational health needs assessment, assessing the fitness of employees returning to work following sickness absence and developing rehabilitation programmes to ensure duty of care.


Key Responsibilities:

* Pre-Employment & Clinical Screening: Provide comprehensive pre-employment screening with occupational health needs assessment.
* Assessing Fitness: Assess the fitness of employees returning to work following sickness absence and develop rehabilitation programmes.


You will also carry out Occupational Health screening following short- and long-term absence referral, communicate with HR and Managers working to support the individual within flexibilities of service monitor absence trends, provide reports highlighting opportunities for improvement in attendance proactively manage case management giving advice on individual rehabilitation return-to-work plans assessing treating employees who are injured or become ill at work giving health education advising on heath safety issues maintaining analysing employee heath records statistics developing managing emergency procedures refer complex cases occupational doctors attend meetings specialist advise managers decision-making liaise GP community services knowledgeable relevant legislation drop-in-service-for-eemployees onsite Act as amended by all other legislations Flexibility cover alternative shift patterns occasion required ability analyse-absence-report-trends knowledge eOpas Management software Essential Requirements Registered General Nurse active NMBI registration Strong clinical decision-making documentation skills Excellent communication work independently Competent IT systems digital-assessment tools Clean driving license access vehicle Registration An Bord Altranais Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland Postgraduate qualification Occupational Health equivalent Sound educational background standard numeracy written English Salary benefits dependent experience qualifications CPD professional development Monday-Friday hours typical minimal-shift-work Opportunities progression senior OH roles Support healthy workforce Work structured well-supported environment Develop specialist skills occupational-clinical-assessment Ideal general nurse-seeking move-shift-hospital-rota Experienced general-nurse-supportive NMBI registered Nurse
