Accounting Technician - Hybrid
CPL is seeking an experienced accounts technician/bookkeeper to join their team. Previous legal practice experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Update and maintain postings for Client Accounts and Office accounts.
• Manage Nominal Accounts, Supplier Accounts, and Third-party Accounts.
• Record receipts, direct lodgements, payments by cheque, EFT, Land Direct payments, and CRO payments ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Document evidence for receipts and payments.
• Transfer funds from Client Account and Journal for Transfers.
• Obtain Client Authorities in relation to S. letters/Bills of Costs/Statement of Account.
• Perform monthly Bank reconciliations for all Client accounts and Office account.
• Prepare month-end and year-end reports and Balancing Statements.
• Invoicing, process Invoices/Bills of Costs, and contact Clients regarding outstanding accounts.
• Assist fee earners with finalising Bills of Costs and Statements of Accounts.
• Process supplier Invoices and Accounts Payable.
• Prepare and file VAT returns and Thesaurus Payroll System.
Requirements:
• Previous legal accounts experience in a Legal Office or similar Office is advantageous.
• Experience in Solicitors computerised accounts and case management systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and numerical skills are essential.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Law Society accounts regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and meet deadlines.
