Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Technician to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of mechanical systems. This role requires a skilled professional who can lead a team of technicians while ensuring the highest standards of facility operations and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians
* Coordinate work schedules, assignments, and resource allocation
* Conduct performance reviews and provide technical training
* Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols across all operations
* Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
* Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues across multiple properties
* Maintain building management systems (BMS) and energy optimization systems
* Ensure compliance with Irish building regulations and safety standards
* Coordinate with external contractors and service providers
* Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures
* Ensure compliance with SEAI energy efficiency requirements
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation
* Support sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction targets
Qualifications
* Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field
* Valid Safe Pass certification
* FETAC Level 6 qualification or equivalent preferred
* Gas Safe/RGI certification (advantageous)
* F-Gas handling certification
* Minimum 5-7 years mechanical maintenance experience
* 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role
* Experience with commercial building systems
* Knowledge of BMS systems (Trend, Honeywell, Johnson Controls)
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Excellent problem-solving abilities
* Proficiency with maintenance management systems
* Knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations
