Join Our Team at Raigmore Hospital – Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Clinical Practitioner Opportunities
Raigmore Hospital's Acute Adult ANP/ACP Service is currently recruiting for Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) and Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) to join our dynamic and well-established team.
Our service comprises 30 + qualified Advanced Practitioners, several trainee ANP/ACPs, and a dedicated group of Assistant Practitioners who support both the medical and Advanced Practice workforce. We provide care across a range of specialties including Hospital at Night, General Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, and Medicine—alongside Ambulatory Emergency Care.
The ANP/ACP team plays a key role in supporting the deteriorating patient pathway across Raigmore Hospital, offering leadership, education, quality improvement, and audit opportunities aligned with the four pillars of advanced practice. Team members also have the opportunity to become core members of the cardiac arrest team and act as the first point of contact for the Medical Emergency Team.
Qualified ANP/ACP Applicants
To Apply, You Must
* Have completed an NHS Highland-approved Advanced Clinical Assessment and History Taking module at degree level
* Be registered with the NMC as a Non-Medical Prescriber (V300)
* Have substantial experience working at an advanced practice level in acute inpatient settings
* Advanced Practitioner who has qualified in recent years must provide evidence of Final sign-off in line with national advanced practice standards by their hosting board.
This role includes a combination of long and short shifts across 5 or 7-day rota, and may include weekends and nights, depending on the area of practice. We encourage you to get in touch to explore current opportunities and discuss available work patterns.
An attractive relocation package of up to £8,000 may be available for eligible candidates. Full-time, part-time, and secondment options will be considered.
Future career development opportunities are available within the team, including progression to a Band 8A Senior ANP post for those who demonstrate leadership, advanced clinical expertise, and commitment to service development.
Trainee ANP/ACP Applicants
Successful candidates will undertake a structured training programme leading to a Postgraduate Diploma through the University of the Highlands & Islands. This includes modules in Clinical reasoning, Advanced Clinical Examination and Non-Medical Prescribing.
Additional Requirements
* Completion of the NHS Highland Advanced Practice Competency Framework/Portfolio.
* Final sign-off in line with national advanced practice standards.
Training posts are rotational (day, evening, weekend, and night shifts) and offered on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum 30 hours/week), with approximately 20% protected learning time. These posts are offered under Agenda for Change Band 7 Annex 21 terms.
