We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team for a Road Scheme in Limerick. Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel onsite, as well as compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
As our successful candidate you will be competent in the following areas:
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local and national regulations.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
* Lead investigations into any accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Liaise with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and implementation of safety measures.
* Monitor and report on health and safety performance, ensuring continuous improvement in safety practices.
* Keep up to date with the latest health and safety legislation and industry trends and advise management on necessary changes.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Previous experience in a Health and Safety role, particularly within the construction or civil engineering sector.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations in Ireland.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
