We are partnering with a well-established and highly respected organisation within the construction products sector to recruit a Specification Manager to join their team at their head office in Cavan.
This is a strategic, technically focused role, ideal for a professional experienced in engaging with architects, engineers, and consultants to secure product specifications at early design stages and drive long-term, specification-led growth.
The Role
As Specification Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and securing product specifications during the design and planning stages of construction projects. Acting as a technical expert and brand ambassador, you will work closely with design professionals to ensure products are specified into tender documents and carried through to project completion. You are required to carry out the duties in accordance with the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 1400, ISO 45001 & ISO50001 Management systems. Under ISO 45001.
Based at the company's head office in Cavan, you will collaborate closely with internal sales, technical, engineering, marketing, and product development teams, while also engaging externally with key industry stakeholders nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Secure product specifications with architects, engineers, consultants, and design professionals
* Promote products during early-stage design and planning to ensure inclusion in specifications and tenders
* Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with key industry influencers
* Deliver CPD presentations, technical seminars, and product demonstrations
* Position the business as a thought leader in sustainability, innovation, and regulatory compliance
* Track projects from design through to completion using CRM systems and project databases
* Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth handover from specification to sale
* Stay up to date with building regulations, industry standards, sustainability requirements, and emerging trends
* Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums
* Maintain accurate specification documentation, records, and reporting
* Provide internal technical training and support to colleagues as required
* Operate in line with ISO quality, environmental, energy, and health & safety management systems
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience influencing decision-makers and securing specifications within construction or building products
* Background in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or Business (qualification or equivalent experience)
* Strong technical knowledge with excellent attention to detail
* Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
* Commercially aware with the ability to identify and develop long-term opportunities
* Highly organised with strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
* Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
* Proficient in CRM systems, MS Office, and data analysis tools
* Willingness to travel nationwide as required
