Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions for elderly patients with psychiatric conditions in a community setting.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance patients' functional abilities and quality of life.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and family members to ensure holistic care.
* Conduct home visits to assess patients' living environments and recommend necessary modifications to improve safety and independence.
* Deliver therapeutic group sessions and activities to promote social engagement and cognitive stimulation.
* Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
* Educate patients and caregivers on coping strategies, adaptive techniques, and available community resources.
* Maintain up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
* Degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with CORU.
* Experience in elderly care preferably within a community setting.
* Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic work environment.
* Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for community visits.
* Full driving license and access to own car is desirable.
* Resident in Ireland and legal right to work in Ireland without restriction.
* All candidates will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.
* International Police Clearance (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 moths after the age of 16).
