Role Overview
A Tandoori Chef specializes in preparing Indian dishes using a tandoor (clay oven), including breads like naan and roti, as well as marinated meats and vegetables. The role requires expertise in traditional cooking methods, food preparation, and maintaining kitchen hygiene. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Tandoor Chef to join our team at Kasturi.
Key Responsibilities
* Cooking & Preparation: Prepare tandoori dishes such as kebabs, chicken tikka, lamb chops, and breads like naan and roti.
* Tandoor Maintenance: Build, light, and maintain the tandoor oven for consistent cooking.
* Marination & Dough Preparation: Marinate meats and prepare dough for various bread types.
* Hygiene & Safety: Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and HACCP compliance.
* Stock Management: Organize inventory, stock rotation, and food cost control.
Skills & Attributes
* Strong physical stamina for working in hot environments.
* Knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and food allergies.
* Ability to manage kitchen staff and collaborate effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
* Training in Indian cuisine or culinary certification preferred.
* Experience: 5+ years in Indian or tandoor-based cooking roles.
