The role is focused on supporting children to reach their developmental milestones and promoting participation in daily activities at home, in school, and within the community. As a Staff Grade Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will provide therapeutic intervention for a paediatric caseload, supporting children with a range of developmental, physical, and sensory needs. You'll be a key part of a multidisciplinary team working to enable each child to achieve their fullest potential. About the Role Excel Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a Primary Care service in Monaghan for a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist. This is a rewarding and dynamic opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about early intervention and family-centred care in a community setting. Key Responsibilities: Deliver person-centred, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to children aged 0-18 years. Conduct assessments to identify needs related to fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and participation in daily routines. Develop and implement individualised treatment plans that support children's functional independence and developmental goals. Provide parent/caregiver education and practical strategies to promote skill development at home and in school settings. Collaborate with families, schools, early intervention teams, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic care. Participate in clinical reviews, multidisciplinary case conferences, and planning meetings. Conduct home, preschool, and school visits where necessary to assess environments and recommend supports/adaptations. Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records in accordance with HSE and CORU standards. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and the development of paediatric services within the team. Requirements: CORU Registration (or eligibility for registration). A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification (including those graduating in 2025). Genuine interest in paediatric care with strong clinical reasoning and therapeutic skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals. Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team. Experience in a community or paediatric setting is highly desirable.
