Post: Senior Instructor
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (35 hrs per week)
Location: Tralee Day Services
Roster: Mon - Fri: 09:00 - 16:30

* Enabling the people we support to realise their goals and achieve their identified priorities.
* Providing support and advocating for participation and inclusion in the community on behalf of the person we support.
* Operating within a person‑centred approach and actively engaging with and promoting co‑operation and partnership with other services, both internally and externally, particularly with families.
* Completing all relevant reports and training, and incorporating and implementing New Directions in line with National standards for day services. Supervised duties may include personal care, emotional support for individuals and families, health care needs, and teaching life skills in collaboration with other healthcare providers to ensure the highest standards of care.
Essential Criteria
* Relevant third‑level qualification (minimum Level 7 Degree).
* Minimum three years' experience of supporting adults with an intellectual disability post‑qualification.
* Passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
* Strong understanding of New Directions, the Disability Act 2005, Health & Safety legislation, and Data Protection / GDPR compliance.
* Excellent IT, verbal and written communication skills for engaging with individuals, families, colleagues, managers, and senior team members.
* Ability to document and report accurately and professionally.
* Ability to plan, coordinate, and document daily activities and individualized care plans.
* Ability to maintain accurate digital records and complete reports in compliance with GDPR.
* Strong time‑management skills to balance multiple responsibilities effectively.
* Deep understanding of rights‑based and person‑centred approaches to support and advocacy.
* Full driver’s licence, proven driving experience, and willingness to drive Association vehicles. Own vehicle use must be road‑worthy and covered by valid business insurance, or willingness to obtain business use insurance.
* Authorization to work in Ireland and provision of supporting documentation during recruitment.
Highly Desirable Criteria
* Experience liaising with statutory and other voluntary agencies.
