Family Support Worker
This is a challenging yet rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of families and children in need.
* Supporting families through home visits, providing one-to-one support to children, young people, and their parents/guardians.
* Participating in outreach work to engage with families and young people at risk, promoting early intervention and preventing family breakdown.
* Providing information, guidance, and intervention on issues that may be negatively impacting the family, including substance misuse, mental health concerns, and other related issues.
* Working collaboratively with parents to support them in their parenting role, empowering them to provide a stable and nurturing environment for their children.
* Advocating on behalf of children, young people, and families living in the community, ensuring their rights and needs are met.
Essential Requirements:
* A minimum Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Care or a related field from a recognized educational institution.
* Experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and families, preferably in a social care setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, service users, and external partners.
What We Offer:
This is a full-time position working 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the service. The post is funded by Tusla and the HSE through Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Drug and Alcohol Task Force.
Further Information:
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current driving license and have access to a vehicle. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to upholding the values of our organization.
