Initiative Ireland is a proven fintech firm, with specialist lending and compliance experience. We are working to embed our unique systems, policies and credit strategies into new AI empowered systems. We are developing governance-grade AI systems for proactive compliance monitoring and corporate credit decisioning—faster, safer, and fully auditable.
Our Next Generation credit and compliance management tools are still in development in-house. As Lead Full-Stack Engineer, you will play a vital role in helping to develop and launch our debut product offering.
Reporting to the CEO, leading the following activities:
* Manage & Cultivate the IT & Infrastructure Roadmap with CEO
* Build the system as direct system programmer / coder
* Lead Project Planning, UAT and Implementations
* Manage Service Desk to address IT queries
* Manage client technical onboarding / Liaising with Client IT departments
* Perform routine review of code, configuration, data, and usage to ensure long-term viability, integrity, and adoption
* Manage other in-house systems
Essential Skills
* 3+ years professional experience building and shipping web apps end-to-end (frontend + backend).
* Python (FastAPI or Flask), Docker, and production CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions).
* Solid SQL/Postgres skills, including schema design and performance; working knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS).
* (React) + TypeScript in production; comfortable with component libraries (e.g., Tailwind, shadcn/ui).
* Hands-on with LLM/RAG workflows (prompting, retrieval quality, chunking, grounding/citations, rate-limit handling).
* Cloud deployment on Vercel/Fly/Railway or similar; environment/secrets management.
* Pragmatic testing (unit/integration), logging/monitoring, and basic reliability practices (idempotency keys, retries, backoff).
* Security hygiene: least privilege, secure secrets, basic OWASP awareness, and 2FA/MFA familiarity.
* Right to work in IE/EU/UK and professional English.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
* Supabase (Postgres + RLS, pgvector) or equivalent managed Postgres experience.
* Vector search (Chroma/pgvector), embeddings, evaluation frameworks (prompt tests, golden sets).
* Experience with financial services/regtech or data-protection contexts (GDPR), and basic audit trails.
* Familiarity with OpenAI + Hugging Face APIs, model selection, cost/latency trade-offs.
* Basic data viz in the frontend (tables, exports, CSV/Excel).
* Observability: Sentry/OpenTelemetry/Grafana, and structured logs.
* Light infra-as-code or templates (Docker Compose, minimal Terraform).
* Certifications (optional): AWS Practitioner, GCP Associate, ISC2 CC—useful but not required.
* Degree in CS/EE/Math or equivalent experience (we're open to non-traditional paths).
This role is ideal for someone who has experience working in multiple areas as part of a team and is ready to step-up and lead development of a systems end-to-end.
