We are hiring for an IT Systems & Applications Support Specialist
(Must hold a valid visa working Visa for Ireland to be considered) for our financial sector client who will provide day-to-day IT technical support and business analysis for core business systems, ensuring smooth operations, vendor coordination, and process improvement. You will work closely with internal teams, regional IT functions, and third-party providers to manage issues, deliver solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
The position is not highly technical but requires a solid understanding of IT systems, application support, and vendor management. Strong communication skills, process ownership, and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide application support for core business systems, including issue investigation, vendor liaison, data uploads, database restores, user access, and role administration.
* Lead and facilitate ticket review meetings, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
* Manage change processes, including communication, documentation, and business sign-off.
* Monitor systems, interfaces, and batch processes to maintain uptime and smooth operations.
* Work closely with vendors, tracking SLA performance, escalating issues, and ensuring delivery quality.
* Support security, compliance, and audit requirements, providing evidence and implementing improvements.
* Maintain IT documentation, ensuring processes are accurate, up to date, and professionally presented.
* Assist with IT and business projects, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
* Provide basic networking and system monitoring support as required.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in an IT support, systems administration, or application support role.
* Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Good knowledge of SQL and Office 365 administration.
* Familiarity with incident, change, and problem management processes.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable
* SharePoint administration experience.
* AWS or other cloud platform knowledge.
* Basic networking and system monitoring experience.
Qualifications
* Third-level qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years in a similar role.
