are seeking to hire a
Head of Milling and Grain.
About the Opportunity
Reporting directly to the General Manager for Agribusiness and Member Trading (A&MT), the Head of Milling and Grain is responsible for driving the performance and optimisation of Dairygolds Milling and Grain operations.
With full oversight of production throughput, quality standards, and operational systems, the role ensures alignment with the strategic goals of Lombardstown Mill and the wider A&MT division.
The remit includes end-to-end supply chain management; covering mill production, quality control, logistics, nutrition, analytical services, and customer satisfaction.
A key focus is on people and performance management, fostering a high-performing culture across teams.
The role also demands strong relationship-building with members, customers, and contractors alike to deliver excellence in service and operational outcomes.
Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
Develop and execute operations strategies aligned with the overall business plan.
Champion a customer-focused culture, empowering site teams to maximise their capabilities and deliver excellence.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and data-driven metrics to continuously improve plant operations.
Lead the deployment of Continuous Improvement (CI), Asset Management (AMIS), UFAS, and IGAS programmes.
Maintain adherence to State and EU regulations governing animal feed production and delivery.
Drive on going Change Management process aligned with overall business.
Oversee grain scheduling, drying, storage, and quality management across multiple sites, ensuring HACCP standards are upheld year-round.
Drive end-to-end feed supply chain performance from raw material intake to finished product delivery.
Champion Zero Harm initiatives and embed a safety-first culture across all operations.
Drive the implementation of

initiatives aligned with the business safety strategy.
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements for feed production and delivery.
The successful candidate will have:
10+ years relevant experience in a site leadership role.
A Third level qualification in a relevant discipline (such as Food Science & Technology, Business or an Engineering qualification is desirable).
Experience in leadership, people management and performance management.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence others at all levels in the organisation.
Significant prior experience of leading and delivering large capital projects across multi-disciplinary teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change through a planned process.
Strong employee relations / industrial relations experience.
Strong business acumen, customer focus, be commercially astute and an excellent problem solver.
Strong compliance awareness and technical ability with passion to deliver to excellent standards
Ability to work across teams in a fast paced, matrix organisation structure.
