This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity.About the OrganisationOur client is a highly regarded public sector body responsible for providing a wide range of financial, asset and liability management services to Government and State authorities.Operating across several key business units, the organisation plays a central role in managing legal claims, litigation risk and indemnity matters on behalf of the State, including healthcare-related claims under the Clinical Indemnity Scheme.The organisation is committed to maintaining high standards of governance, integrity and operational excellence while supporting a collaborative and inclusive working environment.The OpportunityAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Claims Manager to join a specialist claims team managing clinical negligence claims on behalf of public healthcare bodies and State authorities.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Managing a portfolio of clinical claims from investigation through to resolutionLiaising closely with hospitals, healthcare providers, solicitors, barristers and medical expertsSupporting litigation strategy and claims resolution processesProviding medico-legal guidance and claims management support to healthcare organisationsThis role will suit a healthcare litigation or medical negligence professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has strong stakeholder management, analytical and decision-making skills.Key ResponsibilitiesManage an assigned portfolio of clinical negligence claims under the Clinical Indemnity SchemeInvestigate and evaluate claims, assessing liability, legal exposure and appropriate resolution strategiesSupport the development and implementation of case strategies in conjunction with senior colleaguesLiaise with external solicitors, barristers, medical experts and other third parties regarding claim management and litigation strategyAttend meetings with healthcare providers, hospitals and State authorities as requiredEnsure claims are progressed and processed in a timely and efficient manner with accurate documentation maintained throughoutProvide guidance and support to healthcare authorities and hospitals in relation to coronial inquests and medico-legal mattersAct as a key point of contact for assigned healthcare organisations, providing advice and guidance on matters relating to the Clinical Indemnity SchemeAssist with the management of legal costs and related claims activityWork collaboratively with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to support effective claims resolution and risk managementRequirementsMinimum 5 years’ experience managing medical defence litigation or healthcare-related claimsThird-level qualification and/or relevant professional qualificationExperience within medical negligence, healthcare litigation, professional indemnity or clinical claims management environmentsStrong understanding of litigation processes and claims management proceduresExcellent communication and relationship management skillsStrong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple complex claims and prioritise workload effectivelyExperience working collaboratively with legal teams, healthcare professionals and external stakeholdersStrong IT skills with experience using case management or document management systemsHigh level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detailWhat’s on OfferOpportunity to join a highly respected public sector organisationExposure to complex and high-profile healthcare litigation mattersCollaborative and supportive working environmentOpportunity to work closely with senior legal and healthcare professionalsCompetitive salary and public sector benefits packageHybrid working environmentInterested candidates should submit an updated CV.Please click the link below to apply or alternatively send an up to date CV to declan@peglobal.net***Please note our client cannot assist with any visa sponsorship and candidates must have the correct visa to live and work in Ireland***
