Job Description: Baker/Bread Maker at Avoca Rathcoole
Avoca, a renowned retail and food destination operating in 13 locations across Ireland, is seeking an experienced baker/bread maker to join our team at Avoca Rathcoole.
Shift Details: Typical bakery shifts start at 4 am.
Candidate Profile:
* Previous experience in a bakery or restaurant environment.
* Ability to produce a variety of breads in large volumes.
* Reliable and conscientious.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* HACCP & Food Safety: Maintain up-to-date food systems management, ensure compliance with HACCP and EHO guidelines, and practice stock rotation (FIFO).
* Food Preparation: Prepare food daily to high standards for upcoming days or weeks.
* Kitchen Maintenance: Set up the kitchen, clean surfaces, counters, shelves, and refrigerators at the start and end of shifts.
* Food Storage: Store food in appropriate containers, label with production and expiry dates, following HACCP standards.
* Food Presentation: Ensure all foods are presentable according to Avoca standards or as directed by your line manager or Head Chef.
* Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization to ensure food safety and proper storage.
* Timekeeping: Follow policies on sick leave and absences, notify supervisors appropriately, and seek approval for holidays.
* Multi-tasking & Flexibility: Manage multiple tasks efficiently, adapt to roster changes, and cover different areas as needed.
* Physical Role: Be prepared for a physically demanding role involving high-volume baking of breads and pastries.
