About the Position: The Senior Electrician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical control systems primarily for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
* Electrical System Installation: Install electrical control systems for water and wastewater infrastructure
* Commissioning and Testing: Test and commission these electrical control systems to ensure they function correctly
* Maintenance: Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems within the division
Key Responsibilities:
* Electrical Design and Supervision Work: Supervise and perform electrical design work on water, wastewater pumping, and treatment installations with instrumentation and controls
* Assisting as Electrical Supervisor: Assist as an Electrical Supervisor on large projects where additional support is required
* Automation Systems Understanding: Understand PLC-based automation and SCADA systems for Water Treatment Plants (WTP) and Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP)
Essential Competencies and Skills:
* A minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship work in the water or wastewater treatment industry or contracting
* Good knowledge of electrical control systems and electrical fault-finding
* Working with pumps, motors, chemical dosing equipment (including pumps and controllers), control panels, instruments
