About the Role
The Head Concierge will be the guardian of the guest experience at The Hawthorn by Galway Bay — a trusted leader, storyteller, and ambassador for the destination. As part of the pre‑opening executive team, you will design and deliver the hotel’s concierge philosophy, systems, and service culture, setting new standards for intuitive, personalised hospitality.
This is a leadership role that blends operational excellence with emotional intelligence — one that ensures every guest experience is seamless, authentic, and deeply memorable.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the creation and implementation of concierge services and standards from pre‑opening through launch.
* Recruit, train, and inspire a world‑class concierge team dedicated to anticipation, discretion, and excellence.
* Curate a network of trusted local partners, artisans, and service providers to craft authentic, one‑of‑a‑kind guest experiences.
* Champion guest engagement, overseeing all pre‑arrival and in‑house concierge interactions.
* Collaborate closely with Front Office, Guest Relations, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless communication and service flow.
* Represent the hotel as a destination expert, guiding guests with cultural insight, warmth, and professionalism.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive local knowledge across dining, culture, events, transportation, and leisure.
* Uphold and exemplify the hotel’s values of calm, connection, and quiet luxury in every guest interaction.
* Implement and monitor concierge technology, communication platforms, and guest feedback systems.
* Serve as a key figure in shaping the pre‑opening guest journey, from service mapping to brand storytelling.
Ideal Profile
* 5+ years’ experience in a luxury hospitality setting, including prior leadership as a Head Concierge or Senior Concierge within a 5‑star property.
* Proven expertise in pre‑opening or service design within luxury hotels or resorts.
* Deep familiarity with Galway, the west of Ireland, and the cultural richness of the Wild Atlantic Way.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a guest‑first mindset.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and inspire high‑performing teams.
* Poised, professional, and emotionally intelligent — a natural ambassador for the hotel and the region.
