Team Context
The Sensors Engineering team is looking for a Staff Process Engineer (Labs) who will support the start‑up of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry, Ireland.
Where You Come In
You will prepare and run analytical methods such as HPLC, YSI, GC, UV‑Vis, FTIR and titration.
You will be responsible for all sustaining activities to ensure core Operations KPIs (Yield, Performance, Availability, etc.) are met or exceeded.
You will provide training to Manufacturing Associates/Product Builders as well as to Technicians and Engineers across the Chemical, Analytical & Test Labs.
You will oversee execution of a wide variety of testing in a laboratory setting and make detailed observations while performing tasks.
You will perform troubleshooting for laboratory equipment and data analysis tools.
You will maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
You will lead and support new process development and process improvement projects.
You will develop and maintain project timelines and provide updates and feedback to project leadership.
You will implement problem‑solving skills and techniques to identify potential process risks, assess their impact and develop and implement mitigation plans.
You will plan and perform Design of Experiments (DOE) and utilize Six Sigma methodologies to characterize, assess capabilities, and determine optimal processing operating windows.
You will consult with vendors to produce equipment, materials, and/or parts that meet determined product specifications.
What Makes You Successful
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8+ years related experience; a Master’s degree with 5+ years equivalent industry experience; or a PhD and 0‑2 years of experience.
Experience in chemical testing using techniques such as HPLC, YSI, GC, UV‑Vis, FTIR, and titration.
Experience in a lab environment, including mechanical and/or wet lab testing.
Ability to interpret and report analytical data accurately.
Eye for safety, maintaining a safe environment and identifying opportunities to improve lab safety.
Ability to follow, edit, and create written procedures for commercial use.
Experience speaking effectively with large groups, customers, and team members.
Knowledge of validation principles and practices (e.g., IQ/OQ/PQ).
Ability to summarize large data sets using MATLAB/JMP and draw statistically relevant conclusions.
