Job Summary:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the efficient processing, cleaning, and handling of all hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry. This role ensures that clean, high-quality linen is consistently available to support daily hotel operations and deliver an excellent guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Sort soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry by type and degree of soiling.
* Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
* Load and unload washers and dryers, ensuring proper chemical usage and wash cycles.
* Fold, press, or iron items (using flatwork ironers, presses, or hand irons).
* Maintain careful handling of delicate or special-care fabrics.
* Inspect all cleaned items for stains, damage, or poor quality and rewash or report as needed.
* Count, record, and organise clean linen for delivery back to housekeeping.
* Assist in conducting regular linen inventory and stock rotation.
* Report shortages, equipment issues, or supply needs to the supervisor.
* Keep laundry machines, floors, and workstations clean and free of hazards.
* Work closely with housekeeping to meet linen demand for rooms and public areas.
* Assist colleagues during peak times to ensure smooth operation.

Required Experience & Skills
* Previous laundry or housekeeping experience (preferred but not essential).
* Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment (training provided).
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
* Good physical fitness; able to stand, lift, and carry heavy loads throughout the shift.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland.
