Clinical Nurse Manager 1 – Endoscopy – Midland Regional Hospital PortlaoisePosition: Full‑time Clinical Nurse Manager 1 – Endoscopy. Specified purpose until 30 November 2026.Purpose of the PostProvide clinical and professional leadership, including development of advanced clinical skills, in‑service training, orientation of new staff, and provision of clinical support.Responsible for the education, development and implementation of policy and procedures, professional development and mentoring to ensure staff meet required competencies to deliver on agreed standards for patients accessing care via the Endoscopy Department pathway.Accountable for the management, care and treatment of service users within the endoscopy department, ensuring optimum standard of care.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee clinical practice and nursing staff to maintain high quality of care.Lead in‑service training and orientation of new staff.Develop, implement and update policies and procedures related to endoscopy nursing.Mentor and support staff to meet competency requirements.Ensure compliance with national guidance on decontamination of endoscopes and associated equipment.Perform managerial and administrative duties for the department.Work over a 5/5 period if required.Eligibility Criteria / Qualifications / ExperienceStatutory registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) – General Division.At least 3 years post‑registration full‑time experience, including at least 1 year in endoscopy.Demonstrable clinical, managerial and administrative capacity.Evidence of continuing professional development.Maintained live annual registration for the relevant division.Compliance with the Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).Good character and clinically competent, with a suitable state of health.Post Specific RequirementsDepth and breadth of experience in endoscopy nursing, diagnostic and therapeutic scope.Knowledge of national guidance on decontamination of endoscopes.Completed or willing to undertake the relevant Foundation Course in Endoscopy / Decontamination.
