Senior Project Engineer – AECOM Dublin
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating the entire project lifecycle from initiation through planning, execution, commissioning, and close‑out. The role ensures integration of engineering, manufacturing, quality, and site activities, driving projects to completion safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day project coordination across all lifecycle phases.
Oversee planning, scheduling, sequencing, and interfacing between internal teams and the client.
Manage project documentation, reporting, risk logs, and progress metrics.
Drive commercial awareness—tracking costs, managing variations, and supporting budget adherence.
Act as the primary operational point of contact for client, general contractor, and subcontractors.
Ensure all project deliverables meet quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
Identify and address issues early, escalating to the Project Manager as required.
Continuously refine project delivery processes and execution methodology.
Support commissioning readiness and close‑out documentation, ensuring all lifecycle gates are completed correctly.
Guide junior project engineers in project administration and workflow management.

Additional responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver all lifecycle stages: Initiation, Planning, Procurement coordination, Execution, QA/QC and site progress, Commissioning support.
Handover and close‑out.
Manage project controls: schedules, deliverables, logistics, risk/RAID logs, and documentation.
Lead internal and client‑facing coordination meetings.
Ensure alignment across Engineering, Manufacturing, QA/QC, and Supply Chain.
Monitor site progress, track delays, and maintain accurate commercial records.
Prepare professional high‑quality reports for senior management and client stakeholders.
Maintain strong client relationships and clear communication channels.
Drive adherence to safety standards and site compliance requirements.

Shared responsibility

Procurement support, supplier evaluation, and logistics coordination.
Supplier/subcontractor communication to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
Continuous improvement initiatives related to project workflows and documentation.
Mentoring junior Project Engineers and administrative staff.
Capturing lessons learned and supporting the improvement of project frameworks and templates.

Other areas of input

Providing project‑driven feedback on technical drawings and installation methodology.
Supporting commissioning planning and readiness reviews.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related).
Demonstrated capability delivering high‑quality engineered solutions in demanding environments.
5–7 years in a project engineering or site management role within manufacturing, construction, or a technical project delivery environment.
Additional project management or leadership training a plus.
Strong competency in project planning, technical coordination, and cross‑functional leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project.
Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and technical documentation.
Proven ability to mentor and support junior team members.
Experience with HVAC delivery or projects within data centre or industrial environments.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
Experience implementing continuous improvement or lean methodologies.
Ability to build team morale and lead through influence.

HVAC/R Test Laboratory Engineer – Embecta
This role is responsible for the engineering design, development, and commissioning of advanced HVAC/R test laboratory systems within the European regulatory environment.
Responsibilities

Develop mechanical, refrigeration, and process (MRP) system designs for EU‑based HVAC/R test laboratories.
Prepare engineering documentation including specifications, calculations, CAD models, P&IDs, RFQs, and Bills of Material in accordance with EU engineering standards.
Evaluate design alternatives using structured analytical methods to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities (mechanical, electrical, controls, safety) to enable integrated and compliant HVAC/R test environments.
Lead commissioning activities including system startup, troubleshooting, performance verification, and documentation to support facility readiness.
Interface with suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering groups to ensure alignment with design intent, schedule, and quality requirements.
Ensure project execution aligns with EU project governance, CAPEX processes, and all relevant safety and environmental obligations.
Maintain high standards of engineering documentation, version control, and technical reporting in accordance with EU norms.
Cooperate with our regional JCI Center of Excellence in York (US) and Wuxi (China) and apply best practice.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional engineering accreditation preferred.
8+ years of experience in HVAC/R design, laboratory systems engineering, or related technical fields.
Demonstrated familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks, conformity assessment processes, and engineering codes such as safety and environmental requirements for refrigeration systems and heat pumps, EU F‑Gas Regulation, Pressure Equipment Directive, Machinery Directive, ATEX Directive, electrical safety of machinery, ISO/EN, BS national building and ventilation standards.
Hands‑on experience developing refrigeration, thermal, and environmental simulation systems.
Proficiency with engineering tools (CAD, EES, LabView, Microsoft Office).
Ability to manage complex technical tasks independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
