A premium meat processor and supplier is seeking a Health and Safety professional to work at their production facility.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
* Develop and deliver comprehensive Health and Safety training programs for new employees, ensuring they understand the importance of safety protocols in the workplace.
* Perform regular internal audits to ensure compliance with established Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with safety personnel to create and maintain up-to-date safety manuals and guidelines.
* Work closely with departmental heads to design and implement new Health and Safety processes, enhancing overall workplace safety and efficiency.
* Ensure all relevant Health and Safety documentation is current and accurately reflects company policies and procedures.
* Assist in organizing Health and Safety training sessions as required, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Partner with management to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement, driving a proactive approach to Health and Safety.
Requirements:
* 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, though not essential; a proven track record of success in Health and Safety would be beneficial.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
* A focus on continuous improvement, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to standardization.
* Ability to implement effective follow-up and control measures across all aspects of the role.
* Strong organizational and prioritization skills, ensuring seamless task execution and meeting deadlines.
* Minimum Level 6 QQI certification in Health and Safety is mandatory; additional certifications, such as Manual Handling Instructor or Forklift Instructor training, are highly desirable.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
