Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
* Energy and Infrastructure Management:
o Implement and manage energy-efficient systems to optimize farm operations.
o Oversee the operation and maintenance of boiler systems, CHP units, heat pumps, irrigation systems, refrigeration units, and production facilities.
o Monitor and analyse energy consumption data to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
o Ensure compliance with energy regulations and sustainability targets.
* Operations and Maintenance:
o Design and implement maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.
o Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for all critical equipment.
o Collaborate with the Production & Operations teams to provide engineering solutions to recurring maintenance issues.
o Conduct regular inspections and performance assessments of equipment and facilities.
o Diagnose breakdown problems and develop preventative maintenance programs for electrical, mechanical and automation systems.
o Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors for upgrades, repairs, and new installations.
* Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure all farm infrastructure and equipment meet health, safety, and environmental regulations.
o Implement best practices for risk management, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
o Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Key Skills & Knowledge
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
* Recent experience of designing and implementing maintenance strategies & procedures.
* Ability to apply engineering principles in practical application.
* Experience of vendor and contractor procurement and management.
* Proven track record in team development and management essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Is strategic and continuously looking for ways to improve how things are done, use of Lean tools/Methodology.
* Experience in a large horticultural or agricultural production environment.
* Hold an electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
