Full Time 35 Hours per Week

Job Summary:
Project Coral represents a significant ICT transformation programme within Beaumont Hospital introducing the Orbis Order Comms solution, IPM, and Orbis ED systems to streamline patient flow, clinical documentation, and operational management. These systems provide a robust foundation for patient-centred, data-driven care.

The Lead Application Support role is a senior-level post within the Informatics Model of Support. The post holder will provide oversight, coordination, and strategic guidance to ensure uninterrupted access to digital systems. Lead Support manages escalations from informatics and operational support staff and acts as the primary point of contact for complex system issues. Reporting and analytics are supported through Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to inform operational and clinical decision making.

Job Purpose
To provide senior-level operational leadership for the Application Support function, ensuring reliable system performance, high-quality user support, and effective incident management across digital systems including Orbis, IPM, and Orbis ED systems. The post holder will:

* Lead and coordinate the support team
* Manage escalations and complex technical or workflow-related issues.
* Monitor system health and proactively prevent disruptions.
* Collaborate with project and clinical leads to optimise system use and reporting.

Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* Operational Leadership and Oversight

* Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the support team.

* Ensure timely escalation and resolution of complex system issues.
* Monitor system performance, useability and system engagement.
* Participate in strategic planning to improve support processes and workflows.
* Engage with hospital-wide staff to explain the use and benefits of digital solutions, promoting consistent understanding and adoption across clinical and operational areas.

* Incident Management

* Act as the escalation point for high-priority incidents affecting hospital operations.

* Analyse incident trends and implement preventative strategies.
* Liaise with vendors and internal teams for critical issue resolution.

* User Support and Account Management

* Oversee user account creation, configuration, and permission management.

* Ensure correct access levels and adherence to data governance standards.
* Support staff in resolving workflow or system issues that cannot be handled by the support team.
* Provide guidance and advice to staff on effective use of Orbis, IPM, and Orbis ED, fostering engagement and confidence in digital workflows.

* Collaboration and Reporting

* Work with Reporting Engineers to ensure accurate dashboards and analytics are available via Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

* Work with the application and integration engineers to ensure accurate analytics are available via Microsoft Fabric.
* Provide management with regular updates on system performance and user issues.
* Liaise with hospital leads to align support priorities with clinical and operational needs.

Mandatory:
Qualifications And Experience

* Relevant IT or healthcare qualification (degree, diploma, or equivalent).
* Significant experience supporting clinical applications in a hospital environment.
* Proven leadership experience support or ICT operations.
* Strong familiarity with Orbis, IPM, Orbis ED desirable.
* Understanding of hospital workflows, patient safety, and clinical priorities.
