Offshore Finance Business Partner - EirGrid Group
EirGrid Group is at the forefront of innovation in the energy industry, enabling the transition towards a low‑carbon, technology‑enabled smart future. The group plays a critical role through the development and safe operation of the electricity transmission grid in Ireland and Northern Ireland, supplying large industrial customers and the distribution networks that deliver power to homes, farms and businesses across the island. The group also operates the wholesale Single Electricity Market (SEM) and the East West Interconnector, a high‑voltage link between Ireland and Great Britain.
The Opportunity
The Offshore Finance Business Partner is responsible for in‑depth financial analysis, business partnering and has a key role in delivering solutions for complex problems relating to the Offshore Project. The candidate will provide day‑to‑day support for the business, preparing monthly/quarterly/annual cost reporting, accruals preparation and valuable commentary and insights for the business.
The successful candidate will be commercially minded, detail‑oriented, a self‑starter with strong communication skills. They will collaborate regularly with leaders from other departments, act as a trusted advisor and drive excellent business decisions with accurate and timely information.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and maintain financial models that manipulate large data volumes to present information to various audiences.
* Support the Executive team in Quarterly Financial performance reviews with the Senior Leadership team.
* Manage day‑to‑day finance related queries from the Offshore team.
* Monitor spend against regulatory allowances.
* Lead the annual Business Planning exercise and reforecast for the Offshore project.
* Participate in the internal and external audit process as required.
* Maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across the group to drive business decisions.
* Train and mentor junior members of the finance team.
* Work with other teams and directorates as directed to help achieve their goals.
* Address other ad‑hoc queries.
Essential
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
* High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Extensive decision‑making experience and the ability to prioritise conflicting deliverables.
* Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive new solutions to problems with limited guidance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Energetic, passionate, and willing to challenge the status quo.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team.
* Previous Finance Business Partnering or Project Accounting experience.
Desirable
* Experience with Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems is advantageous.
* Experience in data visualisation tools such as PowerBI.
