Job Title: Warehouse Team Leader
It is the Team Leader's responsibility to assist the Warehouse Manager in ensuring that the warehouse is run effectively and efficiently. The Team Leader must lead by example at all times. In the absence of the Warehouse Manager, they will manage and oversee the warehouse and operatives. The Team Leader will work closely with Purchasing & Sales along with Department Heads. They will coordinate and monitor the receipt and dispatch of goods.
Reporting to: Warehouse Manager
Employee Responsibilities:
1. Planning of Staff Rota and annual leave for the warehouse team & drivers.
2. Plan and execute the day-to-day warehouse tasks.
3. Improving warehouse inefficiencies and reducing errors.
4. Managing & assisting in the training of warehouse staff both administrative & processing, motivating them to reach individual goals.
5. Maintain the flow of relevant information / communications to the wider warehouse team.
6. Attend review meetings regarding rejections from customers due to picking errors, labelling errors, late dispatch, and operational issues.
7. Updating in-house system and maintaining good records of all activities.
8. Ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained, ensuring a safe environment for all employees.
9. Engage with sales & purchasing to ensure issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
10. Work with purchasing to manage stock levels of product & packaging.
11. Ensure all HACCP documents are completed.
12. Monitoring & managing waste control, ensuring weekly stock to push product is communicated to sales & purchasing.
13. Review and help implement stock management systems.
14. Maintain records of goods in.
15. Ensure PO's are supplied & booked in correctly.
16. Ensure supplier feedback forms are completed.
17. Monitor Carriage in Traffic Log, adding notes where appropriate to monitor deliveries received (missing paperwork etc).
18. Organise stock takes and review discrepancies in stock movement reports with purchasing & Head of Operations.
19. Perform general ad hoc duties.
20. Keep stock control systems up to date and ensure inventories are accurate.
Employee Requirements:
* 1+ years' experience in a similar role (preferable).
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a warehouse environment.
* Certified forklift driver.
* Excellent teamwork skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* High attention to detail.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes crowded environment with tact and patience.
* Ability to motivate and inspire team members, fostering positive communication, bonding, and flexibility.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to adapt to challenging situations.
* A sense of responsibility and ability to make timely decisions.
