Overview
The Quality Control Controller is responsible for ensuring that all produce received by the company and supplied to Customers meets specifications, food safety and legal requirements within commercial and operational constraints.
The Quality Controller is required to;
· Maintain and develop company Quality Systems and documentation.
· Comply with procedures as outlined in the Company's quality statement
· Ensure the accurate completion of records for all quality tests and checks. Ensuring such records are stored in a safe location where they can be readily identified and retrieved.
· Check that the product meets the requirements of the customer's specifications with regard to labelling, packaging, quality, weight and colour etc.
· Check that all products are dispatched at the correct temperature in accordance with customer requirements.
· Ensure immediate notification of any non-conformance in quality, legality or hygiene to all relevant Managers.
· Ensure as packing commences that the packers are packing to the correct weight and specification. Check each individual packer and check product at the end of the line.
· Ensure daily job sheets are completed in full and are accurate.
· Ensure that daily and monthly hygiene checks are carried out and that cleaning operations have been completed as required.
· Ensure all dispatches are monitored and correct information is recorded on dispatch sheets.
· Assist and guide staff with information and feedback on quality and hygiene.
· Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; and reject unacceptable materials.
· Document inspection results by completing Quality Intake reports and contact suppliers in case of non-conforming products.
· Inspect, test, or weigh products being produced.
· Document inspection results by completing Quality reports for internal use and customers.
· Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards and customers specifications.
· Accept or reject finished items.
· Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
· Check waste on production lines and make waste reports.
· Perform Control Checks e.g. label check, temperature check, scales functional check.
· Check temperature of the products at dispatch
This list is not exhaustive, it should direct the individual as to the expectations of the business, but the role should develop as a result of discussions between the individual and the Manager.
