At AECOM, our diverse Town Planning team is recruiting an experienced Principal Planning Consultant to join our busy Environment business across the Island of Ireland. We are looking to expand our Town Planning team in Dublin, Cork and Galway offices, while supporting a flexible hybrid working model.

Here’s what you’ll do
Planning Applications – Prepare, submit and manage planning applications, including the coordination of supported technical and environmental inputs and liaison with key stakeholders.
Due Diligence – Undertake due diligence, site reviews and pre‑application discussions on major proposals, being proactive and problem‑solving to achieve deliverable outcomes.
Planning Advice – Provide technical planning advice to ensure planning and project documentation meets regulatory standards and reflects current legislation, policy and case law.
Tendering – Lead and support commercially competitive tender proposals and bids.

Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Proven experience in leading planning consents for major infrastructure projects under a range of consenting regimes, ideally within the energy, transport or rail sectors.
High level of ability to prioritize and manage a workload whilst working flexibly.
Excellent knowledge, understanding and application of current and emerging planning legislation.
Direct ROI Planning experience.
Experience managing and working as part of integrated multi‑disciplinary teams.
Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills with experience in reviewing the work of others to ensure quality and consistency.
Corporate member of the Irish Planning Institute, Chartered Member of the RTPI or equivalent.
Full current driving license and access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the post.
