Group Technical Manager (FMCG)Our Client in the Newry area has a requirement for a Group Technical Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.Excellent Salary and benefits package.Role ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Technical and Innovation Director.Managing all aspects of Quality, Food Safety & Legality for three factories.Driving continuous improvement in site standards by leading the team of Quality managers and advising the site Operations and Engineering teams in technical matters, identifying issues, problem solving, ensuring root cause is identified and corrective and preventative actions are taken.Providing leadership to the Quality team and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards within the Technical department and across the sites.Taking an active role on the Site Leadership Team, offering expertise on Quality and Food Safety matters, while supporting initiatives related to Productivity, Safety, and Sustainability within the plant.Occasionally deputising for the Technical Director as needed.Representing the company in customer meetings and effectively communicating the technical strategy.Managing the budget for the Technical department, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place and identifying cost‑saving opportunities where possible.Promoting and implementing the company's Total Quality process, incorporating a Total Quality approach across all responsibilities.Overseeing the organisational development of the Technical Team, fostering growth and proficiency within the department.Conducting horizon scanning and future risk evaluations to inform the development of site HACCP plans, company standards, and corporate risk registers.Identifying areas for continual improvement and innovation in compliance and overall manufacturing capability.Cultivating strategic relationships with external stakeholders such as FSA, EHO, Campden, and others.QualificationsPrevious experience in a senior technical role within the food manufacturing, retail, or food service industry.Demonstrated experience in people management.Proficiency in HACCP and pest control practices.Competence in budget management.Strong systematic problem‑solving skills.Ability to influence and address challenges effectively.Proficient in managing customer relationships and engagement with enforcement authorities.PackageExcellent salary (depending on experience).Strong holidays and benefits package.
