The Pharmacy Department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to support us in the delivery of pharmacy services at HMP Humber.

Main duties of the jobAs a Pharmacy Assistant, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
The post holder will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, which forms part of the wider healthcare.
You will be required to support the delivery of pharmacy services, including the supply of medication, supervision of medication administration to prisoners, and providing NHS services to prisoners within your competency.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssentialNVQ level 2 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent experience).Ability to travel independently around Cheshire DistrictDesirableWillingness to undertake NVQ level 3 or equivalentKnowledge and ExperienceEssentialAt least 2 years experience of working in community/hospital pharmacy.DesirableKnowledge of medicines management issues.Experience of working in a prison environment or similar setting.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and a disclosure check will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
