Senior Backend Developer – Java & Python – Contract Role
Location: Dublin (Hybrid – 3 days on-site)
Rate: Competitive daily rate
Stelfox is looking for a skilled Senior Backend Developer - Java & Python for one of our clients based in Dublin. The ideal candidates should have a minimum of 5 to 8+ years of commercial experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Enhance and maintain complex business applications
* Collaborate with global tech teams to streamline systems and reduce redundancies
* Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Contribute to innovation and the release of new features and products
* Provide expert-level support for trading platforms and resolve urgent front-office issues
* Analyse incomplete or unclear data to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes
* Maintain clear documentation to support business growth and technical transparency
Skills & Qualifications
* Languages: Strong hands-on experience with Java and Python
* Databases: SQL, NoSQL
* Version Control: Git, SVN
* APIs & Protocols: REST, GraphQL, Websockets
* Concepts: ETL, Dependency Acyclic Graphs
* Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication
* Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
