Skellig is seeking an Automation Engineer with DeltaV and cGMP experience to support our clients in Ireland. To be considered for this role you must have DeltaV experience and experience working in biotech/pharma.Overview:The Automation Engineer II is an experienced-level position that supports the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of DeltaV DCS (Distributed Control Systems) for process automation projects. This engineer will take on more responsibility for system design and troubleshooting and will handle complex systems with minimal guidance.Responsibilities:1. System Design & ConfigurationDesign, configure, and test DeltaV DCS systems, including control and equipment modules, batch control systems, graphics, alarm management, and control logic.Facilitate the integration of DeltaV DCS with other control systems, such as SCADA or PLC-based systems.2. Troubleshooting & DiagnosticsTroubleshoot and resolve DeltaV system issues, including control loop discrepancies, system-level communication errors, network issues, and performance bottlenecks.3. Project ExecutionDevelop and maintain system documentation and specifications, including design documents, testing protocols, and validation reports.Perform system commissioning and validation, ensuring they meet project specifications and regulatory standards.4. Regulatory ComplianceDevelop documentation for system installation, upgrades, and modifications, in compliance with industry standards (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, S88, and S95).Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.4+ years of experience with DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS).Technical Skills:Solid understanding of DeltaV DCS and related tools, as well as process control principles.
