The Opportunity
As Head of Pricing, you will own the pricing strategy across all products and drive the evolution of pricing capability. You'll lead advanced modelling, enhance pricing accuracy, modernise automation, and ensure the organisation's pricing platform remains best-in-class.
You'll work closely with Underwriting, Product, Finance, Data, Engineering, and Distribution teams to shape profitable risk selection and sustainable growth. You'll also build and lead a high-performing pricing team, fostering excellence, innovation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Leadership
* Develop and refine pricing strategy across all product lines.
* Lead advanced modelling frameworks (GLMs/GBMs, loss cost, elasticity, LTV, optimisation).
* Oversee pricing model development, governance and compliance.
* Manage model rebuilds, updates and continuous accuracy improvements.
* Design, test and integrate pricing engines, resolving data flow and deployment challenges.
* Introduce new data sources, enrichment tools and automation across pricing workflows.
* Support launches of new products and pricing enhancements.
Analytics & Performance
* Build MI, predictive models and analytical layers to support strategic decisions.
* Monitor portfolio performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
* Implement corrective actions to strengthen underwriting performance and loss ratios.
Leadership & Collaboration
* Lead and develop a team of pricing analysts, actuaries and technical specialists.
* Partner with Underwriting, Product, Finance, IT, Data and Compliance teams.
* Manage relationships with distribution partners, capacity providers and key external stakeholders.
* Present insights and pricing recommendations to senior leadership and Board-level forums
What You Bring
* 5–7+ years' experience in general insurance pricing, ideally including personal lines.
* Proven expertise in technical pricing, modelling and portfolio profitability.
* Strong statistical and data science knowledge; experience with R/Python is beneficial.
* Proficiency with pricing systems; experience with industry-standard platforms preferred.
* Background in integrating pricing engines and resolving data flow issues.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Commercial mindset and the ability to translate technical insights into business outcomes.
* Experience in an MGA or insurer environment is an advantage.
* Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
