We offer a great place to work and a competitive benefits package.Job descriptionKey ResponsibilitiesApply knowledge of fundamental geology to understand how rock types and structures impact groundwater occurrence and movement.Interpret maps, geographical data, historical evidence, and models to assess groundwater regimes and land contamination, often based on incomplete information.Design models of groundwater flow, chemistry, and temperature considering geological formations, surface water flow, and anthropogenic influences.Conduct environmental impact assessments related to groundwater abstraction and management activities, including participation in oral hearings.Design and oversee the installation of boreholes and sampling procedures.ProfileEssentialMinimum 2.1 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Membership of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland or other relevant professional body.Professional Geologist or Chartered Engineer status, or on track to achieve this within 6-12 months.Strong knowledge of Irish and UK groundwater conditions and monitoring techniques.Ability to perform and verify hydrogeological calculations and analyses.Relevant experience and skills in hydrogeology principles and practices.Experience in hydrogeology reporting in compliance with standards.Experience managing groundwater studies, including design and implementation of monitoring programs, aquifer testing, inflow assessments, and modeling studies.Understanding of Eurocodes related to hydrogeology and geotechnical design.Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities.Commitment to Continued Professional Development.Valid full driver’s license.DesirableMSc in Hydrogeology.Good knowledge of Irish Department for Infrastructure, Irish Rail, and Transport Infrastructure Ireland processes and statutory agencies.Knowledge of BIM principles.Experience with tendering and value engineering solutions.Position locationJob locationEurope, IrelandCityCastlebarCandidate criteriaMinimum level of education required6-Engineers degreeMinimum level of experience required6-10 years
