Pharmacist in Hospital Setting
The role of a clinical pharmacist in a hospital environment is multifaceted and exciting. * Dispensing Management: You will be responsible for managing the dispensing of medication to patients within the hospital environment, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
* Ward-Based Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff to ensure appropriate use of medications and provide guidance on medication therapy, fostering strong relationships within the healthcare team.
* Aseptic Compounding Expertise: Prepare sterile compounds for patient administration, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines to maintain patient safety.
* Clinical Trial Participation: Participate in clinical trials involving medications and other treatments, staying up-to-date with the latest research and advancements.
* Data Analysis Insights: Analyze data related to medication usage and outcomes, providing valuable insights to improve patient care and treatment strategies.
* Informatics Support: Utilize IT systems to support pharmacy services, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency.
* Smart Pumps Technology Implementation: Implement and manage smart infusion pumps to improve patient safety, reducing errors and complications.

Requirements and Qualifications
* Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or application in process.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in community or hospital pharmacy.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
