Toolmaker
Our client, based in Longford, is a global leader and manufacturer of injection-moulded products for the medical device markets. They are currently expanding after doubling their plant site.
You will work with a skilled team and have access to a vast collective knowledge base within the injection mould and medical device industry.
Requirements:
* Toolmaking qualification and experience as a toolmaker producing injection moulds.
* Previous experience in an injection mould making/mould maintenance environment.
* Knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, sparking, and fitting.
* Ability to weld.
* Good knowledge in mould maintenance and experience supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of specific mould types would be advantageous:
* Multi-cavity moulds
* Hot Runner moulds
* Valve gated moulds
* Good understanding of the injection moulding process.
* Previous experience working on technically challenging applications would be beneficial (e.g., medical, tight tolerance work).
* Ability to interact with suppliers, customers, and external toolmakers.
* Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for maintaining injection moulds and compiling standard specifications/procedures for each mould, ensuring all existing moulds meet standard specifications.
* Responsible for jig & fixture manufacture, maintenance on injection moulding and ancillary equipment in conjunction with the machine supplier.
* Collaborates with Process Engineers in troubleshooting mould problems.
* Attends, schedules, and facilitates internal meetings to establish priorities and assign tasks.
* Solves customer-related problems/issues in conjunction with the Quality department as needed.
* In conjunction with approved toolmakers, researches new processes/systems for mould maintenance/manufacture and implements new processes/systems developed under the direction of the Toolroom Manager.
* Instructs others regarding manufacturing-related skills or knowledge and assists in training employees on new processes/systems introduced to the company.
* Coordinates the development of documentation in the toolmaking areas, adhering to ISO/ISO requirements, and reviews systems with the Process Engineer/Group Leaders and Quality department regularly to ensure conformance.
* Complies with all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies.
* Performs additional duties at the request of the Toolroom Manager.
* Minimum 4 years' experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
