Building Management Systems Manager
Role Overview
The Building Management Systems Engineer (BMS) is responsible for managing the Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) from design through to handover. This includes interdisciplinary coordination, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the Specialist Systems Integrator (SI) in all aspects of their work, including health and safety, quality, design, pre-construction, and commissioning.
2. Coordinate and manage the M&E contractor’s installations related to BMS and EPMS.
3. Lead and document weekly automation meetings with the SI and contractors, and participate in design, client, and commissioning meetings.
4. Collaborate with the CSA and MEP teams to support automation works across packages.
5. Report directly to the Project MEP Leads.
6. Manage design and implementation of BMS and EPMS systems.
7. Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for automation works.
8. Oversee execution, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
9. Ensure client expectations are met and deliver systems to their requirements.
10. Provide technical troubleshooting support for complex BMS and EPMS issues.
11. Work closely with cross-functional teams including clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
12. Implement quality control measures to ensure system reliability and performance.
13. Demonstrate proven experience in managing BMS and EPMS projects.
14. Show strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
15. Possess knowledge of BMS technologies, protocols, standards, and relevant software and programming languages.
16. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
