Counsellors are required to deliver sessional counselling services to children. They provide eight counselling sessions per referral, conducting these in various locations while adhering to the Code of Ethics and attending professional supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure consent and referral forms are complete, gathering information appropriately and issuing summary reports.
* Interact with clients in a professional manner, maintaining robust data protection to ensure sensitive information remains confidential.
Additional responsibilities include engaging in quality assurance exercises and supporting evaluation processes. Counsellors must operate within the boundaries of relevant codes of ethics and professional standards.
Requirements
* An applicant must possess a recognised qualification at Level 7 or higher in a human science field, along with specific qualifications or experience in counselling or psychotherapy.
* Completion of an introduction to Children's First e-learning programme is also mandatory, as well as holding valid professional indemnity insurance.
* The ideal candidate will have experience providing counselling to children, be familiar with relevant codes of ethics and professional standards, and operate as a limited company.
