Rhenus Logistics is seeking a dynamic and flexible Transport Planner to join the Rhenus team at our location in Ballycoolin. Within this role, you'll be responsible for the timely movement of good around Ireland.
The Transport Planner can expect the following in their day-to-day:
1. Allocation of resources to movements
2. Analysis of historical data, using delivery schedules, vehicle capacity, and geographic factors to develop route plans.
3. Maintaining communication with internal departments.
4. Analysis of transportation data using TMS and other tools
5. Monitoring driver availability to ensure full utilisation of the fleet.
6. Maximising Cost Effectiveness
7. Assigning loads to vehicles based on capacity.
8. Plan, monitor and optimize transportation routes to ensure maximum time and fuel efficiency.
9. Utilising a cluster delivery approach, grouping deliveries by geographical area to reduce delivery time.
10. Relationship Management
11. Timely communication with customers, ensuring all queries are answered or directed at the correct department.
12. Liaising with drivers and warehouse, logistics, and freight departments, to maintain smooth flow of information through the business.
13. Coordination of special deliveries in exceptional circumstances.
14. Resolving collection and delivery issues efficiently.
15. General Administration
16. Checking in drivers at transport reception for deliveries and collections.
17. Preparation and storage of paperwork to the highest standard.
18. Timely record keeping using TMS (Azyra).
19. Other administrative duties as required.
