At A.W. Ennis, we specialise in manufacturing high quality Animal feed for the Agricultural Industry. We require qualified steel fabricators to construct and expand our milling operation.
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Steel Fabricator to join our workshop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming raw steel into custom structures based on engineering drawings and blueprints. This role demands precision, problem solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications
* Cut, shape and assemble metal components using a variety of hand tools, power tools and fabrication machinery (e.g. shears, press brakes, plasma cutters etc).
* Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, or ARC welding on mild and stainless steel to defined standards.
* Conduct thorough quality control checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
* Maintain all tools and equipment and ensure a clean, safe and organised work environment, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers and other team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Proven experience as a steel fabricator or a similar role (Typically 2-5 years preferred)
* Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and using precision measuring instruments.
* Strong experience with various welding processes (MIG/TIG/ARC).
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work both as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
* Valid driver's licence, safe pass and manual handling certification may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant trade certification or an accredited welding certification (e.g. AWS).
* Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts.
* Familiarity with CAD software or CNC machinery.
