We’re offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Sustainability Advisor with a strong environmental focus to join Suir Engineering Ltd. Based in our Dublin Office (with travel across Ireland, the UK, and Europe), this role is ideal for someone passionate about driving meaningful change in construction and sustainability, and keen to contribute to high-impact projects across multiple sectors.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our projects not only meet environmental regulations but actively contribute to Suir Engineering’s sustainability and business strategy. You’ll work closely with project teams and will report into the Head of Sustainability and Senior Sustainability Advisor to help embed best-in-class sustainability practices throughout the business.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Sustainability Advisor, you’ll support project teams and the wider business to deliver on Suir Engineering’s environmental responsibilities and sustainability goals.

The sustainability advisor will work independently while also collaborating with the project teams to help achieve the company’s strategic objectives and to ensure projects are set up and continuously managed to a high standard in accordance with environmental and sustainability local and national laws.

Key Responsibilities


* Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement robust environmental and sustainability plans aligned with the company’s corporate strategy.
* Ensure all projects comply with relevant environmental legislation and sustainability standards across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
* Monitor and report on sustainability performance across projects, including carbon emissions, circular economy principles, and social value outcomes.
* Conduct regular site audits and assessments, identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Collect, analyse, and report on sustainability data to support Suir Engineering’s climate transition plan and voluntary and mandatory ESG reporting requirements (e.g. SBTi, CSRD, CDP, EcoVadis).

Requirements

We’re looking for a self-motivated and proactive individual with technical expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for sustainability in construction. You’ll be excited by the opportunity to make a real difference in a growing, values-led business.

* Essential qualifications & experience
* Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering or a related field.
* 2/3 years’ experience in an environmental or sustainability focused role.
* Experience in construction and/or engineering is preferred.
* Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, decarbonisation strategies and greenhouse gas inventories and circular economy practices (i.e. art 27/28).
* Ability to handle and finish multiple tasks to a high standard.
* Experience with environmental management systems, ISO 14001.
* Experience with the regular collecting and reporting of sustainability data, including carbon calculations for voluntary and mandatory reporting requirements such as SBTi, CDP, CSRD, EcoVadis etc.
* Ability to analyse and present sustainability data to a high standard and to provide recommendations for improvement.
* Soft Skills
* Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to resource efficiency and risk mitigation.
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Other Requirements
* Knowledge of Irish, UK and European sustainability reporting requirements.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment independently and as part of a team.
* Full, clean Irish driving license and willingness to travel in Ireland, UK and Europe.
* Proficient in software platforms such as carbon accounting software, ESG reporting tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), PowerBI and SharePoint.
* Read, write and speak English.
